Scuba Diving in New Zealand
Kia Ora and welcome to the Poor Knights marine reserve, located around 22km away from Tutukaka’s coastline, where I will be scuba diving on 2 different sites: The “Middle Arch” & the “Northern Arch”. The journey to the islands is incredible, as we cruise between them and through natural arches, on a warm and sunny day. Not too far lies the largest sea cave in the world, formed 15 million years ago by an eruption which created a gas bubble, that has now become Rikoriko Cave. Underwater, Kelp forests, giant Nudibranchs, schools of Blue Maomao, and a Short-Tail Stingrays’ highway goes through the Northern Arch, following a rich nutrient current they feed on. Excited? You should be!
